A few thoughts on the Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) School of Medicine reserving 75% of its spots for marginalized communities, and allowing applicants with inferior GPA’s into their program:
The man who’s bleeding to death doesn’t care if his paramedic is black or white.
The woman who’s burning in a building doesn’t care whether her firefighter has an Indian or Canadian accent.
The hospital patient doesn’t care whether his doctor grew up in the backcountry or the Bronx.
The family waiting for rescue in a snowstorm doesn’t care whether their tow truck driver is rich or poor.
The victim of a crime doesn’t care whether his police officer was raised by a single or two parents.
The drowning swimmer doesn’t care whether her lifeguard was bullied in school or not.
Only one thing matters in moments of emergency.
Competence.
When I go for a surgery, I don’t want to be operated on by a man who’s only there because he’s a certain race. I want to be operated on by the surgeon who’s a surgeon because he’s the best at what he does.
When I go swimming, I don’t want a lifeguard who was hired because she was from a different part of town. I want a lifeguard who has the strongest lungs, swimming stroke, and endurance.
When I’m stuck in a burning building, I don’t want to be rescued by a firefighter who’s only there because of some diversity quota. I want to be rescued by the one who has the physical capacity to carry me down the stairs after I’ve passed out from smoke inhalation.
Diversity, equity, and inclusionary, policies are ruining the western world. And, far from being a source of strength for those individuals who really are disadvantaged, it slaps them in the face. It tells them, “You’re not good enough to achieve excellence on your own. You’re too stupid, too poor, and too useless, to obtain anything worth value by yourself.”
We punish Canadians who pursue excellence by handing their achievements to someone else, and in doing so, fuel the engine of mediocrity.
Anyone hurt at work with serious body harm and hospital stays WSIB is not your friend..Afterwards your not capable of working 5 days a week 40 hours because now your no longer capable to perform daily grind.Discrimination against you will make your life harder, more miserable and lonely.
In our current culture, the most disadvantaged person is the straight, white male followed closely by the straight, white female - especially if they come from a British heritage.
Common sense has left the building! Simultaneously, these so-called experts push safety and safe spaces in the universities. Up is down and down is up. If you disagree with their illogical agenda -you're cancelled.
